COVID ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PLAN
Following the virtual meeting outlining arrival and dismissal, a survey was sent to parents. Results of the survey show that more than 75% of students will be car riders this year. This coupled with concerns for student safety led to the formation of a task force comprised of administrators, parents, and teachers. The following is the finalized plan that we feel will be the safest and most efficient plan given the circumstances. Please know that even with this plan, the first few days of school will move slower as we all adjust. All families will be given a sign for their car that will have a number on it. The number will be based on alphabetical order. This will cut down on confusion due to different families with the same last name and will be used for pickup only. We have enclosed an overview of the school, marking the path to be taken.
Arrival – Preschool through 8th grade
Arrival will begin at 8:00AM with staggered arrival times based on first letter of family last name. Since classes do not begin until 8:30 students will not be missing class. Students who arrive early will report to homeroom and engage in accelerated reading once unpacked.
8:00 – 8:10 will be A-H
8:10-8:20 will be I-P
8:20-8:30 will be Q-Z
Parents with children in booster seats or needing help unbuckling are required to park in the lot, unbuckle your child, and walk your child to the adult at your assigned entrance. These parents are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. All other parents are to drive to up the hill by the playground to the designated door listed below and have student exit on the sidewalk side. Cars entering from Beaver Grade Road will turn left up hill. Cars entering from route 60 will drive down along school building, past the cafeteria, and turn right up hill. No cars will be permitted to turn right into parking lot from Route 60. This is to provide single flow of traffic and prevent accidents. You DO NOT need to be directly in front of the door. Students can exit cars two to four at a time. Once students are dropped off, parents are to exit onto Route 60. For parents dropping off at the primary and front entrances, simply exit. For parents dropping off at the St. Vincent DePaul doors, please loop around parked cars in second row and exit.
Designated drop off spots.
K, 1, 2, 3 – Car rider door – door number 15
Preschool will be parking in lot and walking students to the front entrance door. – Door number 1
4, 5 – drive to front walk by flagpole. Students will exit car and walk up walkway entering in front door. – Door number 1
6, 7, 8 – drive in front of building and down far side, dropping off at St. Vincent DePaul door – Door number 2. Parents will then loop around to left to exit onto Route 60.
Dismissal
Preschool will dismiss at 2:15 – Parents are to park and walk to the front door practicing social distancing. – Door number 1. Teachers and aides will meet you at the door. We ask that you do not linger so that you are out of the parking lot before the rest of the school begins dismissal.
Dismissal for K through 8 will take place in the same direction as arrival. However, please note that if you enter from Route 60, you will have to slowly drive past the school lower lot as the buses will be parked near the gym. If at all possible, use the Beaver Grade Road entrance for this reason. Again, remember if your child requires assistance, you must park in the lot and walk to the sidewalk to pick your child up. If you are stopping for your child to get in your car, please have your family number displayed in your window as a teacher will be calling students to the respective doors based on the number.
Dismissal will begin at 2:30 with the following schedule.
2:30-2:40 A-H
2:40-2:50 I-P
2:50-3:00 Q-Z
